The Heart Behind Wildflowers

Wildflowers Community Outreach began with something God placed on my heart: a desire to make a lasting difference in the lives of children, families, and individuals who are struggling.

This mission is deeply personal to me. I grew up in a home where we faced our share of struggles, and I know firsthand what it's like to be a child receiving assistance. I understand how much those acts of kindness can mean to a family going through hard times. I also know what it's like to grow up without knowing the love and hope found in Jesus Christ. I didn't come to know Him until I was 37 years old.

Through my own experiences and what God has brought me through, I've developed a desire to help children and families in ways that go beyond meeting their immediate needs.

I don't want Wildflowers to be an organization that simply provides assistance, shares the Gospel for a few a minutes, and moves on. My hope is to build meaningful, lasting relationships with families in our community, walk alongside them through life's challenges, and create opportunities for continued encouragement, support, and spiritual growth.

More than anything, I want those we serve to understand that their circumstances do not define them, but that their true identity and worth are found in Jesus Christ alone.

What began with serving families within my church has grown into a desire to reach others throughout our community. I am currently pursuing a degree in Biblical Studies with a Christian Counseling cognate at Liberty University, with plans to continue my education and earn a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My hope is to become better equipped to support children and families through life's challenges while keeping my faith in Jesus Christ at the center of my work.

My prayer is that Wildflowers will continue to grow into an outreach where families feel welcomed, relationships are nutured, and Christ is glorified through everything we do.
